The Abyssal Forge is the second DLC for Darksiders II. In the Deathinitive edition, the DLC is unlocked automatically upon finishing the City of the Dead's main quest. It can then be accessed through the "other campaigns" entry of the main menu.
While in transit in the Tree of life, Death falls into a world known only as the Shadow Lands. He soon encounters an Undead Maker simply known as The Mad Smith. Believing Death to be a assassin sent by the Makers the two do battle, however the Maker is able to buy his life at the last moment with the promise of answers…
