1. Who we are
SessionPick (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a game discovery platform at sessionpick.com. We help adults with limited time find games that fit their schedule. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
2. Data we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the service:
- —Account data: Email address, display name, and profile picture when you register. If you sign in via Google, Discord, or Steam we receive basic profile information from those providers.
- —Game library: Game IDs and metadata synced from Steam, PlayStation Network, GOG, or any other platform you connect. We store which games are in your library — not playtime or in-game behaviour.
- —Achievement summaries: If you sync Steam or PSN achievements, we store per-game totals (earned vs. available) and completion percentage. We do not store individual achievement details.
- —Contributions: Tips, ratings, context tags, list items, and parent-guide entries you submit. These are associated with your account and may be visible to other users.
- —Usage data: Standard server logs (IP address, browser, page visited, timestamp). We use these for security and to understand how the product is used. Logs are rotated regularly.
3. How we use your data
- —Provide personalised game recommendations based on your library and preferences.
- —Display your public profile, contributions, and badge progress to other users (subject to your privacy settings).
- —Send transactional emails — account verification, approval notifications, password resets. We do not send marketing email.
- —Detect and prevent abuse, spam, and misuse of the platform.
- —Improve the Session Respect Score dataset using aggregated, anonymised signals.
4. Third-party services
We use a small number of third-party services to run SessionPick:
- —Supabase: Managed PostgreSQL database hosting. Your data is stored in their infrastructure.
- —Resend: Transactional email delivery (verification and approval emails only).
- —IGDB (Twitch): Game metadata — titles, covers, ratings, genres. We send game search queries; no personal data is shared.
- —Steam Web API: To sync your Steam library and achievement data when you connect your Steam account.
- —PlayStation Network API: To sync your PSN library and trophy data when you connect your PSN account.
- —Google / Discord OAuth: If you sign in via Google or Discord, those providers share basic profile data with us under their own privacy policies.
We do not sell your data to any third party, ever.
5. Cookies and sessions
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in — this is essential and cannot be turned off. We also offer optional analytics cookies (Google Tag Manager) which are only loaded after you explicitly accept them via the cookie banner or your preferences on the Cookie Policy page. You can change your preference at any time.
6. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will anonymise your account record (your contributions are preserved but disassociated from your identity) and delete your personal data within 30 days. Server logs are rotated on a rolling basis.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights including access to your data, correction, deletion, and portability. To exercise any of these, email us at hello@sessionpick.com and we will respond within 30 days.
You can disconnect platform accounts (Steam, PSN) and control which sections of your profile are public at any time from your account settings.
8. Children
SessionPick is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy we will update the “Last updated” date at the top and, where appropriate, notify active users by email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
